The “Surduc Blue & Green 2035” masterplan envisions the transformation of Lake Surduc into the premier lake ecosystem of the Banat region. Designed as a dynamic educational and recreational hub, the project seamlessly intertwines the natural lakeside landscape, local rural life, and green innovation. The core architectural philosophy relies on 100% low-impact, reversible interventions, deliberately avoiding concrete in favor of natural materials to preserve the site’s ecological integrity.

The built environment features a diverse range of accommodations, including modular bungalows and custom vacation homes that strictly adhere to NZEB (Nearly Zero-Energy Building) standards. These light structures are elevated on pillars to ensure a minimal ground footprint and are constructed using sustainable elements like CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) and natural wood finishes. To guarantee visual continuity with the forested slopes and the water, the architecture employs a carefully curated color palette featuring shades of light grey-green-beige, alabaster, clary sage, and ripe olive. The nautical infrastructure is equally unintrusive, utilizing modular floating pontoons with eco-friendly anchoring to support a non-motorized Kayak-SUP hub.

Beyond residential modules, the masterplan integrates complex community and recreational zoning across the expansive site. This includes a terraced glamping and camping area designed with minimal “dark-sky” lighting and off-grid solutions to protect local biodiversity. The strategy also incorporates three distinct parks—boasting exceptionally low built footprints—dedicated to family recreation, avifauna observation, and active sports. Furthermore, a wellness center sensitively integrated into the forest and an Agro-Hub designed to revitalize the local farm-to-table economy round out this holistic architectural vision, creating a sustainable synergy between community, tourism, and nature.
