Located in the historical and cultural epicenter of Bucharest, on Șelari Street, this new hotel designed by UNIT2B redefines the urban experience. It is not just a building, but a bridge between the area’s vibrant past and its cosmopolitan present—a space designed to breathe in tandem with the unmistakable energy of the Old Town.

Context and Vision

Șelari Street, part of a protected historical site, presented both a challenge and a major source of inspiration. Our starting point was the idea of creating an oasis of tranquility and refinement, an urban retreat that respectfully dialogues with the existing historical fabric. Our vision was to integrate a contemporary design that doesn’t imitate history but complements it, bringing a note of freshness and elegance. The hotel, with its generous capacity, is designed to meet the needs of a diverse audience, from tourists to business travelers.

Design and Architecture

The central element of the design is the inner courtyard, an “urban piazza” that acts as a transitional space between the hustle of the street and the intimacy of the hotel. This public space invites socialization and relaxation, animated by terraces and greenery that bring nature into the heart of the building. The rhythmic facades and the large ground-floor windows blur the boundary between inside and out, creating a welcoming and open atmosphere.

Architecturally, we opted for a clear volumetric language and high-quality materials to ensure both durability and a timeless aesthetic. Every detail, from the floor plans to the interior design of the rooms, was conceived to maximize comfort and functionality, offering a memorable experience for guests.

Urban Integration

Hotel Șelari is not just a new architectural presence, but an active element in urban life. Through its ground-floor commercial spaces and services, the project contributes to the economic and social dynamics of the area, ensuring harmonious development while respecting the urban framework. We also paid special attention to sustainability, integrating ample green spaces that add ecological and aesthetic value.

This project represents our commitment to creating spaces that not only meet functional needs but also inspire, connect, and enrich the context in which they exist. Hotel Șelari is a testament to how modern architecture can honor and revitalize historical heritage.
