To address the rapid residential growth in Timiș County, we designed the Ghiroda Green School to completely reimagine the local educational infrastructure. Commissioned by the municipality, our goal was to provide much-needed primary and secondary learning spaces while setting a new benchmark for modern and community-centric civic architecture in Romania.
For the exterior, we developed a ventilated facade finished in Klinker-type exposed brick, granting the school a timeless, textured presence. We strategically integrated generous skylights to ensure the interior learning spaces are flooded with natural daylight. Crowning the architecture, expansive green terrace roofs visually merge the building with the surrounding landscape.
Our interior design reflects a high level of architectural complexity, tailored to support a comprehensive and interactive educational approach. We integrated bright indoor spaces for socializing and relaxation, including a spacious ground-floor amphitheater and a dedicated dining hall. To accommodate a wide range of extracurricular activities, the program features arts and crafts and carpentry workshops, a music room, a theater club, and spaces dedicated to student projects. The science curriculum is supported by specialized biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories, alongside a dedicated robotics and programming room. Finally, we prioritized physical education by designing an indoor sports hall complemented by outdoor sports and recreation areas
